Post Jam bug fixes

Thank you to everyone who played and voted for 21st Century Farming Simulator in the jam! Third place is pretty good!

Here's a small update to the game that should hopefully fix a lot of the bugs people ran into during the voting period. The code for this one is a bit of a rat's nest lol, but I think I've resolved some of the more egregious issues.

Changes include:

  • Disabled the "End Turn" button in situations that would cause your game to soft-lock if you clicked it (in the shop, drawing cards, discarding cards, etc). It should now also not be possible to press the button twice in a row and end your turn while you are ending your turn. This alone should prevent a lot of issues with seasons being skipped and invalid cards being drawn.
  • Fixed an issue that would let you double click the button to start a season to skip the season altogether.
  • Fixed an issue (I think) that would cause cards to sometimes be dealt face-down and become unplayable.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause cards that target other cards to become permanently semi-transparent.
  • Fixed an issue that would let you discard the card you were currently holding, preventing you from interacting with any cards.
  • Not really a bug fix, but more of an oversight: I realized that I had accidentally listed the Turtle Pog three times in the list of sellable pogs, which meant that it was the only pog that could appear in the shop multiple times. I removed the duplicates and added in the two pogs that were supposed to be listed there, so now all 20 pogs should show up in the shop correctly now.

Also, not a bug fix but a QOL change that was suggested: You can now double click cards to immediately play them if they can be played. So cards that don't target anything (Like Defend), or cards that target all enemies (Like Reap), can always be played this way. But cards that target a single enemy can only be played this way if there is only one enemy left alive. Hopefully this doesn't introduce any new bugs!

So I think I've mostly resolved the bugs that people had called out, but if I missed anything or people run into more issues with the game, let me know! I don't really intend on continuing to work on this game, but I'd rather squash bugs where I can.

Happy Halloween!
